The Electronics and Communication Engineering Association (ENCEA) of KVG College of Engineering organized a one-day training program on emotional intelligence titled ‘Mastering EQ’ on July 13th, 2023, at the college seminar hall. The session, aimed at enhancing emotional well-being and self-awareness, was attended by faculty members and students from the 4th semester.
The training was conducted by Prof. Krishnananda A, Head of the MBA Department, who served as the resource person for the program. Prof. Krishnananda emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence (EQ) in both personal and professional life. He guided participants through various techniques to identify, understand, and manage their emotions, fostering better decision-making and relationships.
In his session, Prof. Krishnananda stressed the importance of balancing emotions, particularly for students. “In a highly competitive academic environment, students often face stress, anxiety, and pressure to perform. Learning to regulate emotions is crucial for maintaining mental clarity, staying focused, and improving interpersonal communication,” he explained.
The program highlighted that emotional intelligence is not only about managing one’s own emotions but also about recognizing and responding to the emotions of others. This skill plays a pivotal role in building strong, supportive networks, which are vital for personal development and academic success.
The event was well-received, with participants gaining valuable insights into mastering their emotions, which is essential for achieving a harmonious balance between academic responsibilities and personal well-being.
