The Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribes (ST) /Other Backward Caste(OBC) Cell in an institute promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category. It is expected to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.These communities have been identified as the most backward groups of Indian society, which have been declared by the constitution of India under the provisions of article 340,341 and 342 of the constitution of India.The SC/ST & OBC cell has been formed in the year 2013 in KVGCE. The aim of the cell is to assist the students who belong to SC/ST/ OBC, for supporting academic performance and financial benefits from the government. The cell is also focused on monitoring the strict implementation of reservation policy as per AICTE guidelines.

Vision
Mission
Objective

To oversees the effective implementation of policies and programmes for the socially reserved groups and to act as source of strength by providing financial assistance inorder to achieve equality and social justice.

To improve the performance, provide guidelines and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters to socially reserved groups.

To provide opportunity and facilitation to the socially reserved groups for learning and creating space for them to mainstream themselves.

  • To develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.
  • To document the student admissions under SC/ST/OBC category
  • To monitor the implementation of reservation policy in the institution.

  • To circulate various schemes and other GOI orders to the various aspects of education and other welfare schemes
  • To create a platform where students can point out their problems regarding -academic and nonacademic matters
  • To develop the self confidence of SC/ST/OBC students
  • To integrate and promote the students who belong to SC/ST/OBC community at par with the main stream student body.
  • To organize seminars , workshops relating to SC/ST/OBC developments.
Roles and Responsibilities
Composition Of SC/ST/OBC Cell Committee
    • The Reservation (SC/ST/OBC) Cell will monitor and endeavor to resolve issues, grievances related to all reservation candidates and staff at the Institute level.
    • The SC/ST & OBC Cell will monitor and endeavour to resolve issues, grievances relating to SC/ST & OBC Students and Staff .
    • The said Committee/Cell will look into the complaint and call the concerned complainant personally for hearing the grievance.

  • The cell will monitor and inform the various facilities available to the students.
  • The cell will conduct seminars and workshops to build the self confidence and awareness of the various schemes 

The SC/ST/OBC students and employees can approach the convenor of the cell for redressal of any of their grievances regarding academic, administrative or social problems. The convener often meets the concerned students and staff to discuss their problems and takes necessary action and/or renders them necessary advice/help to resolve the matter.

A written complaint may be submitted to the committee. Any student or employee of the college can approach the cell in person.
