The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Association of Civil Engineers (ACE), organized a field visit to Kanthamangala on 01-10-2026 for 7th semester Civil Engineering students to study the procedure for marking the centre line at a construction site. Er. Arun Kumar H., Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, served as the resource person and guided the students during the visit.
The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to the techniques and procedures involved in centre line marking, which is an essential step in building construction. Students learned about the importance of accurate measurements, setting out building layouts, establishing reference points, and maintaining proper alignment as per the building plan.
The field visit helped students understand the practical aspects of surveying and setting out works, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and field applications. It was an informative learning experience that enhanced their understanding of construction layout procedures and the importance of accuracy in civil engineering projects.
