The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Association of Civil Engineers (ACE), organized a hands-on training programme titled “Total Station: A Practical Approach” on 28-09-2026. The training was conducted by Mr. Prakash, Digital Instrument Surveyor, North East Company, Hebri.
The programme aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of Total Station surveying and its applications in civil engineering. Mr. Prakash explained the components, setup, operation, and basic surveying procedures using the Total Station instrument. Students gained hands-on experience in handling the instrument, taking measurements, and understanding its applications in field surveying and construction projects.
The training session enhanced students’ practical skills and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and field practices. The programme was informative and beneficial in familiarizing students with modern surveying techniques. The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person for his valuable guidance and support.
