International Women’s Day Celebration 2024-25

The International Women’sDay was celebrated at KVG College of Engineering on Saturday, 08th March, 2025 at 2.30 PM. The purpose of celebrating Women’s Day is to focus on specific challenges and goals related to women’s rights and empowerment.

Dr. Shaila M Pai, Vice Principal, HOD, Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, KVG Dental College and Hospital,Sullia was the chief guest. She shared insights on women’s empowerment, emphasizing that females have equal inheritance rights as males. She highlighted women’s involvement in various fields and acknowledged the physical differences between men and women. However, she stressed that both genders are equal before the law despite their biological differences. Additionally, she encouraged prioritizing physical and mental well-being, cultivating resilience in the face of failure, and fostering a supportive environment where women uplift one another rather than pass judgment.

Mrs. Chinthana Subramanya, President,Innerwheel Club, Sullia, was the Felicitator of the day. She addressed the gathering by delivering the necessity of International Women’s Day celebration during this function.

Dr. Savitha M, Professor, Department of E&CE and Mrs. Damayanthi K, Foreman, Department of E&CE are also felicitated for their long lived service in the KVGCE. On this occasion, funds were handed over to support Mrs. Prameela T., Attender, Department of E&CE.

Dr. Ujwal U J, CEO/Professor and HOD, CS & E department and member of executive council, was the president of this function. He emphasized that empowering women is essential for uplifting families and driving national development. He highlighted the importance of self-confidence, strong knowledge, positive behavior, healthy relationships, courage, and patience in fostering family growth. Additionally, he stressed that good leadership, gender equality, and fair wages are the foundation of a strong family. He also acknowledged women’s achievements across various fields.

Dr. Shridhar K, Vice Principal, Head of Mathematics department highlighted the role of women in social and political spheres, as well as their contributions to family life. Women excel in every field with a positive impact, fulfilling their roles as mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters in an exceptional manner.

Ms. Nidhi & team amused the audience by singing a song which signifies the power of a mother as a woman. Outdoor games were conducted for the staff & students prior to this function. On this occasion, prize distribution was done for the winners.

Miss. Pooja and Miss. Kushi prayed the almighty. Dr. Bhagya H K, Professor, Department of E&CE, Chairman, CICC, delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Surekha M. Prof & head, Deptartment of Chemistry introduced the chief guest. Prof. Prajna V T and Prof. Bhavya P S introduced the felicitators. Dr. Divya A K delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Thrishali and Ms. Manaswi A J, was the masters of ceremony. All the lady staffs and students and the members of CICC, KVGCE participated in an enthusiastic manner. The program was followed by refreshment.
