The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, organized a three-day hands-on workshop on “PCB Design, Fabrication & Testing” from 10th to 12th September 2026 at the E&C Computer Lab. The workshop was conducted as part of the VTU Skill Lab program, with the objective of providing students with practical, industry-oriented technical skills.
The workshop was conducted by RLogic Technologies, Bellary, with Mr. Rakesh B H and Mr. Pavan H as the resource persons. The programme provided students with hands-on exposure to the various stages of PCB development, including circuit design, PCB layout, fabrication, component assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
The inaugural function commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Kusumadhara S, HOD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The resource persons were introduced by the Master of Ceremony. Dr. Chandrashekar A, IIC Coordinator and HOD, Civil Engineering, highlighted the significance of skill-based learning and the importance of Skill Labs in enhancing students’ practical competencies and employability.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Suresha V, Principal, KVG College of Engineering. He emphasized the importance of practical exposure and industry-oriented training in preparing students to meet the requirements of the rapidly evolving engineering sector.
As part of the inaugural programme, mementos were presented to the resource persons in recognition of their contribution to the workshop. The inaugural function concluded with the vote of thanks by the Master of Ceremony.
Throughout the three-day workshop, students actively participated in hands-on sessions and gained practical experience in designing PCB layouts, fabricating boards, assembling electronic components, testing circuits, and identifying and rectifying design-related errors. The programme helped students connect classroom concepts with practical implementation and develop confidence in working with electronic hardware.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for strengthening students’ technical skills and enhancing their readiness for academic projects, prototyping, and future industrial applications.
