Introduction:
An industrial visit to Chowgule Shipyard Pvt. Ltd., Goa, was conducted to provide practical exposure to shipbuilding processes. The visit was attended by 24 students and guided by Prof. Sudheer K.V. and Prof. Abhijna B.B.
About Chowgule Shipyard:
Chowgule Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. is a leading shipbuilding company known for constructing cargo vessels, dredgers, and other maritime ships. The shipyard uses advanced technology and machinery to construct ships up to 7000 DWT, serving both Indian and international markets.
Currently they were working on the Sweden Project and will be
launching it in July into the Ocean.
They made a Hybrid Powered ship named BIOMAR


Facilities Visited:
Fabrication Shop: Observed steel cutting, shaping, and welding processes.
Slipways: Understood how ships are assembled and launched.
Assembly Units: Saw the integration of ship blocks and installation of components.
Safety & Environment Units: Learned about waste management and safety measures.

The visit to Chowgule Shipyard was a highly educational experience. It helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practices. The support and guidance of Prof. Sudheer K.V. and Prof. Abhijna B.B. greatly enriched the learning experience for all 25 participating students.
