V-8 Cricket Tournament 2025

The V-8 Cricket Tournament 2026 was successfully organized at K.V.G. College of Engineering, Sullia, on 16th May 2026 at 7:00 AM at the KVG Ground. The tournament was conducted with the objective of promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness among students.

The inaugural function was presided over by Dr. Suresha V, Principal, K.V.G. College of Engineering. The event was graced by Mr. Lokesh P.C., Student Welfare Officer (SWO), and Mr. Ajith B.T., Sports Coordinator, who encouraged the students to actively participate in sports and maintain a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities.

The tournament followed a unique V-8 format, with each team comprising 8 players, including 5 boys and 3 girls. This format encouraged gender inclusivity and provided equal opportunities for both boys and girls to showcase their cricketing talents. Several teams from different departments participated enthusiastically in the competition.

The matches were highly competitive and witnessed excellent performances in batting, bowling, fielding, and teamwork. The active participation of girl players added excitement and strengthened the spirit of inclusiveness and cooperation among the teams. Students displayed remarkable dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Faculty members, sports committee members, and student volunteers efficiently coordinated the fixtures, scoring, umpiring, and event management. The enthusiastic support from students and staff created a vibrant atmosphere at the playground and motivated the participants to perform their best.

The tournament concluded with an exciting final match followed by a prize distribution ceremony. The winning team and runners-up were felicitated with trophies and certificates. Outstanding individual performers were also recognized for their achievements.

The V-8 Cricket Tournament 2026 was a grand success and provided a valuable platform for students to develop team spirit, confidence, leadership qualities, and sportsmanship. The event strengthened camaraderie among students and created memorable experiences for all participants.
