AIM: Team Ignite successfully conducted a brainstorming session aimed at welcoming and integrating freshers into our community. The event was designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and engagement among new members, providing them with a platform to share ideas and connect with peers.
This report outlines the objectives, activities, and outcomes of the session, highlighting the insights gained and the positive impact on team dynamics. This Session was conducted under the guidance of our Dean of Academics, Dr.Prajna M R, following their suggestions.
INTRODUCTION: On September,23 the second activity of team Ignite was held in the class rooms there students of the first year are divided into 2 groups , the first group was handled by team members of A section and second was handled by the B section members To enhance collaboration and focus. Initially our team member Thrishali warmly welcomed the freshers, helping them integrate into our team. Since there were among 45 students, we split them into 6 groups for the activities. Each group has been assigned one member from our team to guide and support them throughout the session.
The first activity was hosted by Surabhi. T , involves guessing a word. Each group will choose a word, and one member will come on stage to represent their group. The other groups will have 2 minutes to ask yes-or-no questions to guess the word. If they guess correctly, that team earns points; if not, the team on stage receives the points instead. It was a lot fun to listen to the creative questions they asked during the game. Team 1 excelled in guessing, successfully identifying the most words and ultimately won the game.
The second activity was a treasure hunt planned for outdoors, but it was cancelled due to rain, as we couldn’t send the students outside. Despite this, the students were very excited, and each team showed great teamwork during the first half of the activity.
The third activity is about advertisement, called group Ad activity, involved giving students a selection of advertisement topics to choose from. They were required to pick one and create an advertisement based on that topic, working together in groups. Some of the topics we provided were Colgate, Oreo, Jio SIM, 7Up, Dream11, Dairymilk, sting, Maggie, etc. The main purpose of this activity was to encourage teamwork and creativity, to develop their advertising skills along with communicating ideas. Team 1 chose Colgate Ad, Team 2 chose 7Up Ad and they performed very well compared to the other teams, Team 3 chose Dream11 Ad, Team 4 chose Dairymilk Ad, Team 5 chose Sting Ad, and Team 6 chose Asian paints Ad. Team 1 has won the activity.
The last activity was called as a Clap Count Challenge. It was a math and logic-based individual challenge. The instructor will call out a number, and students will take turns counting up from one. If a student reaches a multiple of the given number, they must clap instead of saying the number. If they say the number, they are out. At first, it was quite confusing, but after sometime, they gained fluency in the activity, and shaman won the game and appreciation was given to him.
Overall, Team 1 led the activity and secured first place, while Team 2 achieved second place. Appreciation was given to both teams for their performance.
It was a fun-filled day, and we enjoyed it greatly. At the end of the session, Shanmukha thanked the students for their cooperation during the entire brain storming session with his gracious words.
The second group session was handled by team members of section A. They have conducted 3 games namely advertisement, skit, marketing.
The members of the team Jnanasiri and Nandan Krishna hosted the first activity which was about advertisement, where the topics of some brands are selected by the students of the group students of the group by themselves.
The second activity was skit, the students were allowed to choose the topics with some theme at the end of the script. The students come up with there ideas ,creativities and different messages towards the society.
The last activity was marketing , Here the students need to buy the items from the team which were purchased from the market. They need to sell the purchased items more than the MRP rate and get the profit. The team with more profit were announced as the winner.
At the end of the session Team 1 and Team 7 got first and second place respectively.
CONCLUSION:
The team Ignite conducted the activity based on learning environment prepares communications and giving opportunity for the student to explore themselves and their ideas.
